Just when I thought we had enough transportation issues with the Light Rail extension halt at the Virginia Beach line I learn about a $5 million dollar expenditure cost over run by HRT. Whats going to happen next?

Earlier last week, we reported that HRT exceeded its estimated budget by $5.1 million, creating a $2 million burden for Norfolk, $1.6 million for Virginia Beach, $1 million for Newport News and lesser figures for other cities in the region.
Harrell said that, later this month, agency officials will work to make the process better.
“We could’ve had better messaging,” he said. “We need to do a better job of keeping partners fully informed.”
